This collection is created using fine silver metal clay.  This versatile material is fine silver that has been ground into fine particles, mixed with organic binders and water.  Soft and malleable, it is worked similarly to clay, and can be rolled, textured, carved, sculpted, and enameled, among other things.  Once it is fired in a kiln at 1650° for several hours, the binders burn off, the fine silver particles fuse, and the piece transforms to a solid, 99.9% pure piece of silver.  Additional steps post firing include burnishing, polishing and adding a patina if desired.
